The Comdis China team held a qualitative data analysis workshop for their Zhejiang partners on the 23rd October, led by Dr Xiaolin Wei. Using a recent TB designated hospital project as an example, the team introduced the principles, methods and the related software for the qualitative analysis. The presentation was followed by one-to-one tutorship. COMDIS China partners regarded it as a very good learning experience.

Dr.Xiaolin Wei was invited to present the recently finished PPM evaluation project on a national TB PPM symposium in Beijing on 14th September 2009. The symposium was an expert consultation meeting on a series of newly drafted national PPM policies and guidelines. Our study was the first systematic evaluation of the performance and impact of PPM approaches in China. We are pleased to see that our research is contributing to the national policy formulation.
